Tykes Program (8 and under)

In 2010 the Saskatchewan Lacrosse Association has agreed that the following development model will be used at the tyke level. QCMBL supports the SLA and the CLA in developing this program. Listed below are  the changes to how the game will now be played at the Tyke level. 

Tyke will follow the LTAD Option X

Tykes will be playing cross floor 3 on 3 with 6-9 players per team, with goalies.
- Nets will be 3ft wide by 3 ft high. The net tail will be 3ft from the boards.
- There will be no contact.
- No scores shall be kept
- Equipment required are helmets, mask, knee pads, shoulder pads, small stick , jock and or jill straps.
- They will play with a regular lacrosse ball.
- Coaches will remain on the floor and officiate. Modified CLA rules apply. The fall back rule applies.
- No league officials
- Equal participation of players with 3 minute shifts.
- Players will take turns playing goalie.
- Games will consist of 2x15 minute training sessions and 2x15 minute games with no face offs.
- Teams will cross over and play each for the second game.
